Ketamine Assisted EMDR

Combining Eye Movement and Reprocessing Therapy with a low dose of ketamine helps clients access and process through traumatic memories with fewer defenses onboard. Clients stay present with the therapist while on the medicine, helping the EMDR process be more streamlined and more effective with less resistance to going inside. Clients share that they are able to visit triggering memories with more easy access to open-hearted self compassion than in regular EMDR.  Target memories that might take multiple sessions to clear without medicine, are often able to be processed in a shorter period of time due to the natural softening back of protector parts when medicine is on-board.

Because of the low dose of ketamine, Ketamine Assisted EMDR sessions are significantly shorter in length than regular Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions, taking place in 75 to 90 minutes from start to finish. This makes it a much less expensive and time consuming intervention than regular KAP, and more like a typical therapy session. It is also a more targeted approach to both modalities alone, as each complements the other.

Ketamine Assisted EMDR is ideal for clients with either Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Complex PTSD diagnoses. However, it is appropriate for a broad range of clients and presentations of symptoms.
